Winning Through Innovation

Ideality, as part of the Innovation for Success consortium, has been reappointed by Scottish Enterprise to continue delivering innovation workshops for a third year.

Seven series of workshops have been delivered so far, in many parts of Scotland, with 93 delegates from 67 companies attending.
The workshops include the following topics:-
* Creativity and creating an Innovation Project
* Researching your markets
* Product/service design
* Exploitation and Commercialisation; using your Intellectual Property (IP) & Intellectual Assets (IA)

A survey of attendees found that 75% of delegates are now actively using the knowledge on return to their company, generating comments such as:-
 “Attendance has re-enforced our present drive to create a more innovative culture.  Have used some of the creativity techniques with our distributor in Taiwan to their delight”
“The courses were the best ones I have attended as the course leaders were the best.  They have been in business and have a good overview of the bigger picture”
In one case an attendee has recorded a turnover increase of 300% since putting the learning into practice!

There is a demand for more:-
 “The workshops were a very valuable exercise.  Would like to see the next level up; where to go next with innovation; how other companies tackle their innovation issues”

The follow-on stage to these introductory workshops are a series of topic specific workshops, delivered either to small groups of companies or to individual company teams.  Ideality has delivered a number of these workshops also.

Linking in to this programme Ideality is contributing to the Low Carbon Built Environment (LCBE) initiative of Scottish Enterprise to promote the development of innovative new products for this rapidly growing market.  This Expert Support Service is being led by BRE Scotland and its project partners at the BRE Centre of Excellence, University of Strathclyde and Edinburgh Napier University.
